The Roses met when Nila was a guest of another student at the end of the year banquet at Apostolic Bible Institute in St. Paul, Minnesota where Hugh was a student there after graduating from Jewett High School in 1952. Nila graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis, IN and received her musical training fromThe Progressive Conservatory of Music in St. Louis, MO and her musical talents are greatly appreciated by the entire Harrison Hills Church Family as well as guests who attend the church. The Roses were married at Calvary Tabernacle, Indianapolis, February 14, 1958 (and have recently celebrated their 50 wedding anniversary). They served the Calvary Tabernacle and Calvary Christian School in a number of capacities until 1973 when they accepted the call to Hugh’s home church, where they have remained until now. The Roses have four children, Hugh II who with his wife Julia (Trapani) Rose live in Jamestown, NC with their two sons, David Harper and Andrew Joseph. Stephanie resides in Granger IN with her three children Danielle, Collin and Gabrielle, David lives in Powell, OH, and Dawnella and her husband Chris live in Dublin, OH. Dawnella comes to direct the church choir for special occasions. We highly recommend the Festival of Candlelighting and Carols that is held during the month of December.
